Firstly if I could change what I don’t like in this world, I would change everything. In fact, I don’t like the present government, I don’t like how mass-media manipulate the population and also I would turn all the cars in to electric ones. I would try to reduce the pollution and fight against wars. In addition, all the schools would have a big campus where the students could take a break. Lastly, I’d try to change the environment to have less smog, less garbage. I would make in all countries an seed Bank, like the Millenium Seed Bank. (by Florin Borceanu, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
Firstly, I'd like to change the vision of historical characters, because he is character who doesn't die while time passes and his actions are remarkable today, tomorrow and at all times. If we understand his decision, in the future we won't make the same mistakes and we have an example for good choices. History is always subjective, but we wrote history, so finally, I want to change the perception of historical events. I'd develop the selective attitude of people, because when you read history, you must take it with a pinch of salt. If I change these two issues, the other problems would resolve themselves. (by Alina Andreea Miclos, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
Probably the most important problems that our world is facing right now are the global worming and the racism. I really can’t decide which is the most important one, but I can say that both of them can and probably will destroy this world if we don’t put an end to them. The global worming subject has been discussed a lot in the past few years and still nothing has changed. Things are even worse. But I just wonder, when will people realise the gravity of this? All the things that we’re doing affect the Earth in one way or another. I just want to open everyone’s eyes and shout to them “We must stop! This Earth can’t take it anymore.”. And I just pray that we’ll wake up soon, before it’s too late. And the racism problem. I can’t even debate it in a few words. It’s too complicated, too hard to convey it with words. It’s just that I don’t understand this insanity, this belief that some people are better than the others. Does it matter that some of us were born in America while some were born in Africa, or Asia? It shouldn’t matter but it does. And while it hurts me even thinking about it, I can’t stop imaginig what the victims of this belief are feeling. No one is better than the other, everyone has a quality of their own, and just because we are different doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get along with each other. This world is too beautiful and it gives us so many amazing moments that it would be a shame to waste it because of hate. Next time you’re on the street, watching the crowd and everyone that walks past you, just think that the world doesn’t revolve around you, that there are millions of people who have the same thoughts as you, who love the same things as you do, who have families to love. We’re so different but at the same time so alike. Let’s just take a step back and truly see the world that’s in front of us. Let’s do that before it’s too late. It doesn’t matter if the thing that ruins us all is the fact that we can’t take care of this amazing Earth, or that we can’t love one another, or so many other problems. What does matter is to open our eyes now, when we can still change something. Maybe a part of this Earth can’t be fixed, and maybe the feeling of so many people can’t be changed, but let’s fix what can be fixed, let’s not just talk about it. Let’s just do it! (by Cristina Adriana Scaunasu, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
I dream a dream of happy people living in a world free from wars and famine. The change is in us. Children can make it happen. Stop thinking of yourselves and start building a future for your children, too. Our future is in our hands. Protect our planet, think of the others, too, stop being selfish. A child’s smile is worth a thousand sorrows! (by Catalina Grecu, 8 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had power in my hands, I would change everything about the negative aspects of a person. First, for the children who don’t have a family I would create education centers equipped with everything necessary for them to not starve. Second, I would create education centers that could help each child vin terms of their to behaviour in society, and not least, to have some useful knowledge in the future. Everyone must learn that beating, bullying, bad language inappropriate jokes are not a good example for others. Thus, if I had that power, I would gorbid using such words. Today, it’s not words that matter, but facts. Luckily, there are people know this. (by Teofana Cosa, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
We all know that absolute power is held only by God. Assuming that I would be God for a day, I would change three things in this world: I would make old, wise people young, keeping their wisdom, I would heal Stephen Hawkings as a reward for everything he gave to this world and I would preserve and promote the intelectual values. (by Justinian Roman, 12 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I would undoubtedly change people ‘s mentality and their concepts on life. Nowadays, most people tend to head for wrong directions as they are more interested in money than in being morally accomplished. An adequate example to sustain this fact is represented by the parents who advise their children to follow a well-paid job so as to have a successful career. In addition to this idea, they do not take into account their skills and passions. At the same time, the educational system does not allow the students to only focus on subjects they are fond of. It also offers them information they do not necessarily need to use. As a conclusion, it will be amazing if people will change their way of thinking and do the best to reach their goals. (by Bianca Petre, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If power was in my hands, what would I like to change in this world…It’s simple: First of all, stop the Holy Arabian War. It is claiming too many victims and it is a real danger to democracy, but of course with the help of the U. S. A. Second of all, reduce all prices with 50%. There are many poor and homeless people, but with the help of something like this, their numbers would be reduces, with 50%, AND would bring economy to a whole new level! Just imagine it! Last but not least, erase Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin from history. They both started evil cultures which almost erased the jew population, the People of God! (by Emanuel Enache, 13 years old, Student from Romania)
Even it is impossible firstly I would like to change people's thinking because we are destroing the Earth, the most important thing that we have, knowingly, and we destroy ourself consuming everything unhealthy. The world should stop consuming drugs, alcohol and tobacco for a longer and healthier life. I want the discrimination between social classes, breed or religion to stop. I think every child must have a family and not live in orphanage. If all the people changed their mentality and stop fighting against each other, the world would certainly be better. Secondly I wish I could make all the incurable diseases disappear, to be found the cure all of them so people won't suffer anymore. (by Irina Georgiana Aldea, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If I have a power wherewith I can change the world, I will try to stop the pollution. Through the pollution we destroying our future, because we were remaining without important resources, like wood, oxygen and ozone measure. Firstly I will try to make the people to replace the cars with the bycicles. Secondly I will interdict the forest cutting, avoid throwing household waste on the street and who do not comply, to be amended drastically. In conclusion, we can save the world, if each other contribute with something, and try to change people's minds about the environment. (by Ionut Andrei Stan, 18 years old, Student from Romania)
As Michelle Obama says "Change happens one person at a time" but change is not as simple as we all make it sound. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can change the world. We are supposed to watch after each other and to help those who are in need but we put our own good over the greater good. In the begining we killed to survive, but we became soo good at it that we started killing our own kind for worthless reasons like skin color, religion, sexual or politic orientation. If the power were in my hands I would feed the hungry and shelter the homeless, educate those who are in need and put a stop to animal cruelty and abuse but one person isn't enough to make a difference; in order to change the world, we first have to change our mentality. Change doesn’t start by mere wishing or hoping, it starts by living your life for the good of yourself, humanity and the environment at large. (by Denisa Petrescu, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
How would I like to change the world? Firstly, I want to stop poaching, hire as many rangers and guards to stop these activities and imprison those who practice them. To create as many jobs in different fields and invest as much in this business. To invest in schools find as many teachers to teach the children and help them become important personalities. To create as many resorts and tourist attractions because they earn money from this way and create jobs. Deforestation and pollution should be stopped, people thoued travel more by train, bus, bike and on foot. To stay longer in the house dressed in winter and reduce gas consumption. Eat as much cooked food as possible than fried, so people will not get sick. (by Andrei Danaila, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
I would like to change many things in this world, but I will mention the most important ones in the following lines. First of all, I would try to “erase” the poverty from all the countries, by giving all people jobs, so that they can live a normal life. I would help the sad children who have been abandoned by their parents, and who do not know how it is to smile, to receive gifts, or to be loved by someone. Being a 12-year pupil, I have to admit that I would also like to change some aspects in the Romanian educational system; for example, the summer holiday should be longer. (by Cosmina Elena Buzatu, 12 years old, Student from Romania)
The way in which technology influence our lives. Sometimes it’s better to use it only when you need it. Now all the children play on the computer, and this is good, but not for a long time. After this I’d like to remove dishonesty, people to do their job in a good way. After these, I think a bad part from our world is that we are jealous on the others, but I think the most important for everybody is what he can. I would like to stop all the problems between the biggest powers, for example the tensions between Ukraine and Russia. I would like to change our learning system, in one based more on creativity. I would like to change the way in which we treat and integrate literature, the art in general, sports in our life. Also how we talk to the others, how people behave with their parents, grandparents, children, brothers and sisters and maybe to their enemies. Finally I’d like to change it in a better world. (by Alex Feier, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
“If only I could change something…” are the words I’ve been keep saying to myself lately. I really think that the society we are living in is turning upside down, because of the “big people”, the ones that have the power, like politicians and mass-media. Nowadays, the people who were supposed to support and educate us are just manipulating us for their own selfish purposes. If only I had the power… I would reorganize everything, starting with the mass-media, which is the main debasement factor of our society. I would make sure that no poor quality program goes on TV an journalism will become again what it once was. All the people around the world are watching TV or reading a newspaper daily. Even if we talk about a doctor or simply just about a homeless, everyone wants to be updated to what happens in this world, so there is where we need to hit. If we want to make a real change, we have to start with the people, with their mentality. I’m aware of the fact that it may take a lot of work, but this is the change we need to improve our society, “to make this world a better place”, like the song says. (by Elena Aniela Latea, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I would like to change many things in this world because there are many aspects which should be improved. For example, due to poverty, which is an important problem in many countries, many people begin to beg, or steal; that is why I would try to offer jobs to everyone. I would also pay attention to the problem of pollution; in my opinion, our planet is a beautiful piece of work which is gradually destroyed by people. Thus, I would punish all the people or institutions that do not protect the environment. Regarding the Romanian educational system, I would change some subjects in students' timetable, except the English class which is fun and useful for me, thanks to my teacher too. (by Denis Ilie, 12 years old, Student from Romania)
It is said that technology works 20 years before the present, that although the Internet was born in 1969, revolutionizing the moment as "the greatest discovery of the century", it was theoretically discovered in 1949. Why I took this example? Probably because of what's behind all the information on everything that surrounds us and its spread in the table. So, if I were in a position to have the power to change things and I would know that this hypothesis is a true one I would use that information to give a helping hand to mankind of nowadays. It's just cruel to think that millions of people die every day felled from diseases that haven’t yet a cure and others still hold secrets about their treatment, curing. At stake are the lives of people and in vain this information is kept confidential to be made public at some point, because we are gonna reach at that critical moment when we’ll have cures, but we will not have anyone to heal. (by Andreea Maria Mursa, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
First of all, I would get the American Government to disclose all its secrets about the alien existence. Secondly, I will create a special prison for all the gangs from Cali, Columbia, to decrease criminality and drugs traffic. Also I'd write a law in which babies from families from China, who have more than two children, not to be killed any more. Another thing I would like to change is that animals which are poached to be protected by the law. At last I would get all countries to cooperate and help each other with money, materials and soldiers. (by Teodor Andrei Ghilescu, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I would change the way people think. They all want to be like others, to have the latest technology instead of looking around them, socializing, making new friends, enjoying every second of their lives. If we stay all day in front of a computer, a phone, we lose precious time. I would also change the fact that whatever you do and wherever you go, your life depends on money. This is not fair because are people that have a BIG heart and don't have money, but they deserve more. And the way many people think is making our life worse. They say that if people don't have money, luxury cars and homes, they are poor. NO! They have something more precious than these: a big heart, a big smile and a lot of people they trust and who are always with them and also love them. They can be called "people". (by Ioana Geosanu, 14 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had the possibility to change something in the world, firstly I would like to stop the crimes, improve the public safety and decrease the rate of mortality. Nowadays, our world is a very dangerous place because of the crimes. Too many people are using fake identities to abuse of people on the social networks. Also, the world can be a better place to live in if we stopped burglaries and robberies. Many people die in armed robberies, and we do nothing. I think we, together, can change the world, and make it a better place to live in! (by Gabriel Catalin Belcianu, 15 years old, Student from Romania)

If I have a power I would make that all people to be healty and that nobody shouldn’t be sick again. Firstly, the most important problem in this world is that many people die of diseas which can’t be treated. For me no matter what country, religion or color they have. Also, I would make that nobody to die of hunger or thirst and I would stop the global warming. Finally, all the people is important and I would stop the wars and bloody murderes. In conclusion, I will never use this power just for me because I know what means to lose a loved one. My father died of a serious illness and if I have a power I try to bring him back to be always with me. (by Samia Antonia Khaddour, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
“Education is a basic need and a fundamental right for every human being.” said once Humaira Bachal, a 25-year-old Pakistan woman who has been restricted from high education. Just like in Humaira’s case, many girls are restricted from education because of their families. In Afghan, for example, only 30% from girls have access to education. If the power were in my hands, I would change the educational rights system for the girls especially in the Middle Eastern, African and Asian countries where the rate of girls who do not even know how to write or read is at an unpleasant rising level. I would declare attending the primary school and high school a must and change the educational system so both genders will be equal. With a good education, girls will become great women such as Humaira Bachal is. (by Maria Andreea Adam, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
I am only a child but the future lies in our hands. The future is made for children by the children. It is my responsibility as well as everybody else’s to make a change. I would plant trees to breathe fresh air and I would stop people from cutting down trees to build factories. Thus, the animals wouldn’t have to live in fear of losing their natural habitats. I would choose a ruler among the people who care about the people, a common man or woman who knows and cares about people’ s real problems and act for the benefit of the others. The change is up to us all. If we were less selfish and more open-hearted the world would be a better place to live. People should learn the lesson of love, friendship and understanding from children who play in a benevolent atmosphere without wars and destruction. (by Alexandru Grecu, 11 years old, Student from Romania)
If I were to have the power in my hands I would probably like to wake the sleeping soul in each one of us and turn on the lights so we can see all the beautiful still left around us despite people feeling separate, different, less-than or better. Love is limitless, it’s perfect, it’s truth and we know deep in our soul that love is the answer for everything. If we learn to appreciate the true values of a human being and see the good in us, we surely can have a change of heart about all that’s happening around us. I believe that we are lit by love so we can surpass hate and massive wars on the world. Love sees broken souls and heals them, discern a need and fulfills it, love is the only key to true happiness and peace. So, all in all, if we want a better world we should start by making us better people that value everything around us. Love is unselfish and protects the graceful surroundings of this world, anything is within our reach so what about making heaven a place on earth? (by Andreea Oana Mazilu, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
I dream to a change! If, the whole power as in my hands I’l start with little things like, change the school or change the prices, I’l offer jobs, because our world is beautiful, but it needs also big changes as bring peace, stop the murders, save the environment, bring back to live all death endangered animals, I’l stop the destroy of the ozone blanket cause we need that layer, it protect us . Our world is so wonderful and someone must save it! (by Stefan Jiroveanu, 12 years old, Student from Romania)
Over the time, this world has undergone many changes in terms of technology, economy, politic and society. If you ask me, I would like to change the people on this planet, the look of the Earth and the main “function” of people, such a love. The first change would be the people who become too bad, nurturing too much hate and being too violent. Another change would be to divide this world in many categories of people. Those who lie, those who violence and hate to be left alone, isolated. In conclusion, this world has changed far the worse and should be directed to survive as long possible. (by Maria Madalina Ardeleanu, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had power in my hands, first of all I would change all bad people from this country. I would punish those with evil thoughts, in order to not commit large damage and other evil deeds which destroy country. Secondly, I would change the president, as many people in the country do not have jobs and even houses and does not has absolutely no action in that respect. Many people are of the opinion that it should fall the president from power. We all want change, but despite expectation doesn`t change anything. So if I had powers, I would change little by little across country! (by Iuliana Lungu, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had the power in my hands I would like to change the people’s mentality. Due to the daily problems and because of the many gaps, people always tend to have. Their only thought is that there were and without realizing attract negative things in their lives. Humanity needs to know that they can have anything they want as long as they really want and thei thoughts stand only at this and simply will attract that in their life. Because they think only at negative things, they don’t realize that passed the at some point in their lives with who never meet again. (by Alex Florin Negreanu, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
I would invest in our children, thus investing in our future. I would give money to those who help poor children stay in school and sponsor all those who are talented but cannot follow their dream. I would make sure that violence against children is properly punished, because it is an attack on our future security. (by Roxana Stan, 35 years old, Teacher from Romania)
If I could change the world in this moment I’m thinking about making money disappear because without them people won’t worry anymore about banks and all that stuff. We could go back at living in a non-polluted environment and just use trade-off s (an exchange of one thing in return for another), instead of using money. This way we would keep our planet clean and make our kids happier. (by Marius Florin Micu, 18 years old, Student from Romania)
If I were to change this world, probably I would help elderly people, orphans, helpless and homeless persons with love, respect and, of course, financial support. One thing I really want to modify is this generation's way of thinking and sharp its mind and soul soul.…Also, if I had the necessary strenght, I would erase not only hate, but proudness, lies and jealousy from this world's face; all in all: crimes, murders, burgles. This is a matter of respect and if we don't support each other, then who will? Peace should cover all lands and happiness, love, emotional and spiritual could definitely provide us a good mood and a healthy way of living. (by Adelina Aron, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
I would install a world government, make the rich give a lot of their money to the poor so the gap between poor and rich is smaller or nonexistent, make the high evolved regions help economically and technologically the less evolved ones, again until the gap is small enough, come back to the old true Greek democracy were all the people MUST vote, and give them all the freedom to propose laws, which are revised later, not to change its sense by any means only to see if its correct and can be put up to sound like a law, by an agency (made of nobel winners, scientists, stars, influent people) after it passes through it, the public vote starts, the vote would be a home electronic computer monitored system. This is how we can create a world from the people by the people for the people. (by Mihai Christopher Radovici, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands I would start a movement that will change the world from a place of selfishness to a world full of smiles. This movement would be called “Pay it forward” and it should be based on helping 3 persons who have a problem that they can’t handle on their own. The ones you helped need to take the commitment that they will do the same. In an year or less the world will be changed if each one of us applies this idea! (by Andreea Buftea, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands I would change many things in this world, but one of the most important things would be to alter people's DNA so that they won't be so ruthless, impolite and dangerous, because harmony is the most important thing in the world in my opinion. Another thing I would change is to make all those people who are trying to destroy our world just for their pleasure of seeing the world suffering vanish from the face of the Earth. That's what I would change for a better world. (by Cosmin Teaca, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
First of all, I would help the children in Africa. They are very pour and they live in awful conditions and they are very vulnerable to serious diseases. After that, I would make smoking illegal because children start to smoke from a very early age and that can affect them very much. Cigarettes are also very expensive and they destroy your body and lungs. Then, I would encourage people to use bikes or public transport because pollution is a big threat to our world. It can destroy the ozone layer, it can cause global warming and it would just destroy our world. That’s what I would do if I could change the world. (by Andonis Claudiu Drobota, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
As far as the world goes, I want to change a lot. First of all, I wish there were not poor people in the world, they must be helped of other people with more money. The world should be more protected because it will be destroyed by pollution and from big water consumption. Secondly, I wish the school were arranged with electronic boards and smartphones for students, for doing homework and exercises. In this way we would able to save many trees because we would reduce paper consumption. I want to do camps for students in foreign countries to know traditions and ways of life. I want to be peace in the world, not war between neighboring countries and civil wars, I wish all people were friends to each other. I hope that my wishes would come true. (by Silviu Gabriel Gavriluta, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
I believe that if I have the power, I will try to change people̕ s mentality about the environment. In our world it is important to be rational and to be aware of environmental problems, because people must save the world. However, the indifference is one of factors, which transforms us in people who don̕t understand why we need a planet without pollution. In my opinion, if I had the opportunity, I would try to make a petition for environment protection. I also think that in order to protect our life against pollution we should stop cutting forest and get off chemicals and fumes. Besides these actions, I think it is important to protect us from polluted water, because it threatens our health. So, we must take attitude and try to discover a way to make people interested in the place where they live. (by Ioana Pletea, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I would like to change many things, especially in my country, Romania. First of all, I would replace many of the actual politicians, including our president and prime-minister, by young and intelligent people who can really improve the citizens' lives. I would also increase people's salaries and try to make the basic products cheaper, so that our lives to be better. People with all kind of disabilities and old persons should be treated properly and not marginalized and excluded from the Romanian society. Another aspect which I would change, is the quality of our roads; by improving the Romanian infrastructure we would have more tourists who are attracted by the beauty of our country. (by Florin
Gabriel Tomulescu, 12 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I would try to change the world, make it a better place. Firstly, I would end world hunger, I would help the needful, make the poor equal to the rich. I would like to change humans way of thinking about things that really matters in life, like love, faith, happiness or kindness. But we all know that at some point, it all gets boring and power will take over the way. I'll start playing with destinies, making a game out of the whole concept of “Life” because this is the real power. It not means that I wouldn't try to make a change in the world, because those who are crazy enough to think they can change something, usually do. But I am a mere human. And I cannot play God. Firstly, I would build shelters for stray animals and homeless people, create a law according to which all animals found without a master may be given up for adoption. Secondly, I’d hold peace treaties between all countries to stop all wars and those who don’t comply will be punished with death treaties. Thirdly, I would make a law that all men over 18 to get a job and agriculture to be the first step to prosperity. What’s more, I would pass a law that all men who steal, beg, commit a crime, do not comply to be punished according to the laws. Also, I would create a law for all people to have equal rights regardless race or religion. Besides, I’d look for a way not to waste natural resources so quickly and be used only when needed. I would give a law to future leaders of the country to pass certain tests to prove that they deserve to be leaders. Also, any decision made by the leader of the country and its subject should be vote by all citizens regardless race or religion. Lastly, I would organize schools so that every student had the right to choose what to do in the future. (by Andrei Badene, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had the chance I would change people around me and of course, myself. If we, all 7 million people on Earth erased hate, anger, envy and malice inside us, we should be able to enjoy the happiness of living peacefully. I would avoid trying to compete with people for money, big houses or expensive cars, but helping them to have more knowledge and be thankful with their normal life, where money has no real value. If people are changed, everything around us is changed in better. (by Andreea Cristina Roxoleanu, 13 years old, Student from Romania)
I would change humanity’s mentality. If they go on like this, the pollution will considerably increase and the Earth and natural environment will be destroyed. At the same time, people’s health could be destroyed by many vices such as smoking or drinking. Nowadays, students start smoking even at the age of 13. Even those pupils that don’t smoke have health problems. Doctors have to face nutrition problems like obesity. Children often eat everything they get in their hands. Finally, I want do decrease pollution, the number of people’s vices and the preservatives in food. (by Alexandru Teodor Huiban, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
“Be the change you want to see in the world!” is Gandhi’s well known quote that changed my entire perspective about man’s way of living. If I had the power to change something in this world, I would certainly try to convince people to give up on being selfish, to step aside the envy and make them realize that the most important thing in life is to succeed in getting along one with each other, because this will solve all the other problems this society has: environmental issues and the bad education system. According to what I think, this is the only way for every one of us to discover our inner peace, to save our souls from falling into the abyss of ignorance. Leading a helping hand or showing your love will always remind us what means to be human. As a conclusion, the main problem in the world is people’s lack of affection and this is what I would definitely change. (by Elena-Denisa Goran, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
