Granted, the world never has and probably never will be perfect, but that is no excuse to not try to make it as good a place as we can by Helping Protect and Preserve Your Planet. That means recycling, stop driving everywhere and stop vehicle emissions, reduce our impact on the planet, minimize water usage, support animal welfare. The world today is definitely not a paradise. Abuse, poverty, pollution, and other dangers are all too common. We can help to create a better world for the future. And it's not as hard as we think. (by Iuliana Simona Babarelu, 39 years old, Teacher from Romania)
In today’s society there is so much that I want to change about the world but just don’t have the means or power to do so. The problem that I would change about the world if I could is prejudice. This affects all of us, members of a majority, as well as a minority group. People are prejudiced against because of many aspects of their identity: nationality, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, religion, appearance, and even professions. Our only chance for a successful society is to get rid of prejudices. Don’t look down on people because they are different. Don’t be afraid to learn about other religions or cultures. There is good and bad in all of us, it doesn't matter what color our skin is or what church we go to. The key to succeed is having respect for all people. If somebody is feeling down or hurt, give them a hand and be their friend. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just support each other in this life? If all people could just learn to love themselves and love others this world be a much better place. (by Marina Iuliana Lazar, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I would do everything to help the other people with their problems, because that is an important issue at this time. First of all, this power is the riskiest job in the whole world. All the people count on me to do their life better, so, if I don`t do that, they would be disappointed. Even if the power were in my hands, the judge is made up by all the people of the world. Another thing is that I could change the laws that don`t help the world with anything. I could give prizes to the students with good grades, I could reward those who help the others being volunteers, but also, I could punish the ones who do bad things. In the end, I think that if I were to have the power in my hands, I could make a better world around us. At least, I would try! (by Diana Andreea Dimofte, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
I would like to change people’s mentality. I want racial lack of equality to disappear. People forget how to help those who are in a crisis situation. I want political conflicts leading to war between countries to disappear. With responsibility and involvement there will be no misunderstandings, only communication, peace, friendship, collaboration. (by Daniela Paula Stoicescu, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
“Nowadays, if you want to change the world, you have to appeal to the feelings”, says the theatrologist Ioana Moldovan. Associating a cultural act with a social one facilitates the access of youth to vital information, through art, because art is capable to raise awareness and change mentalities. A social-artistic initiative of awareness and information addressed to an age group under formation is necessary. In this case, knowledge or ignorance determines decisively the progress, the change for the better of the society. (by Claudiu Fotache, 47 years old, Teacher from Romania)
I dream to a change Millions of years ago God created LIFE, covered the land with trees and grass, spread joy and kindness among people, gave us the possibility of breeding and evolution. During time, we fulfilled God’s will, we gave birth to our children who became wiser and wiser, we built houses, buildings and towns, we developed technologies to make our life easier…and here we are, after millions of years, trying to continually change the world we live in. However, in our trial, we’ve forgot to live, we’ve forgot to play, to laugh, we’ve forgot to enjoy every moment of our lives. We’ve started to lose our humanity, we’re mean and hopeless. Let’s stop for a moment and think about the world we have created… Why don’t we enjoy it? Why don’t we smile and try to make of it a better one? Isn’t it what we have wanted? Yes, it’s more than that… it’s our home in which we should feel safe and happy. Let’s try to be better, to help ourselves, to remind what our purpose is, because we have the inner strength to do it! Let’s get back to the olden days when sympathy, common sense and altruism were virtues. Maybe we will be happier then… (by Adinel Dragos Marcu, 38 years old, Teacher from Romania)
If I could reach for the stars,I pulled one down for my friends and shine it on their hearts, so they could see the truth that i have inside me.I want everyone to smile, to be happy, and all the troubles to fall down. In the everlasting light there is a revelation that shines and brings back the old chapters of our lives when everythings is beautiful. I want the moon and the stars to unite, and we can say our pain..the malice will turn to dust and love will fly only to earthians. However, now and then, the world becomes just a memory, for me it is a power which we own. (by Teodora Elena Toader, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
The world can not change a single man. But it is said that children are the future. I’d invest in children, in their education. They should always be a priority. An education devoid of too much theory, an education in which a child has to be convinced to do certain things. To return a part of the world, I’d send in capsules into space all the murderers and criminals. Too much money spent on some people who do not deserve anything. I try to persuade every young man, as much as possible, to take care of the environment. These are the things that I try to change them, if I had the power in my hands. (by Andrei Pal, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had power in my hands, I would like to change the educational system as it is not all the time of a high quality. In some countries, it doesn’t allow students to take the initiative in their hands. Why do I say this? For example, I’m part of a project called "Put Theory in Practice" and the organizers of this project are some students in 10th and 11th grades. Walking from school to school to tell students about the project, they encountered difficulties when they were asking the principals to enable them to make this announcement because this project was considered by these persons to be just a waste of time. So, they didn’t allow our colleagues to make the announcement. I think it is not fair that they said NO only because this project was initiated by some students. We are the most important part in any educational system, so we should be given countenance to think and take initiatives. (by Raise Ilescu, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
If you ask me what I want to change in this world, my answer can be: I want to change the opinion of people about this planet, life, death and spirituality. Unfortunately too many people run for money, and my question is: “If tomorrow money disappears, will these people die?”. Mahatma Gandhi said:”Be the change you want to see in the world” and that is an important thing because the power is in our hands, it’s our choice how we use this power. If people understood this idea, they could live on this planet like a big family, no wars, no hatred. It’s our fault because this world is destroyed and we can change the society. We are responsible for our life, and spiritual life it’s the right path, not the material world, full of corruption, hate and sad people. (by Razvan Andrei Stoian, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
All life should be appreciated if humanity is to step forward in our pursuit for a better society. Spend time supporting animal rights, volunteer at our local shelter, or donate to an organization for animal welfare. Keep in mind that most animal suffering happens to farm animals, not pets. Most people forget this, since they can't see the animals they eat. Consider going vegetarian - it's healthier, helps the environment, reduces animal suffering and might actually be cheaper! If you can't imagine being vegetarian, eating less meat also works. Remember, it doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing decision. (by Sorina Maria Nicolescu, 40 years old, Teacher from Romania)
The society we are living in is an imperfect one and will be this way, despite many beliefs that world leaders had on this subject. There will always exist a good and a bad force that will maintain the equilibrium. If the power were in my hands, the first thing I would change is the influence of mass-media which is constantly brainwashing the population. A proper education would force the people to make the right decision instead of a blind one. Another matter that I would like to modify is the recycling problem. A big percent of the plastic masses are just thrown away instead of being used again, affecting both the environment and humankind in a long or short run. To sum all up, making the right choices would radically change the world. (by Alexandru Munteanu, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
When I imagine a better world I picture Green. Green is the color of grass in spring, green is the color of leaves, it’s the color of nature that surrounds us, and even more than this, it’s the color of a clean nature. Being Eco may seem a cliché, but if I had the power to change something in the world I would make some changes that concern the nature. I would fight against pollution so that our world would become green again, as it was in the past. I would change the grey color of pollution into green –the eco color. (by Daniela Pavel, 34 years old, Teacher from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I'd try to change people's mentality. People should become more involved in volunteer actions and involve in environmental activities because we need to save our planet. The future of the planet depends on people. If I had the power I would seek to train the people to be more civilized, more educated. We need to treat each other better. I'd use the power only to help the others, those who need it. I think that it is wrong that there are poor countries and developed countries, all people are equal from birth and so it should be up to death. The developed countries should help poor countries to develop so that the planet to be a better place to live in. If I had the power I would remove the poverty and hunger in the world, by all means I have. (by Loredana Jenica Marcu, 35 years old, Teacher of History from Romania)
My opinion in to change world is very simple. In first argument in if change world is help in people find homes. I plant to trees for animals for to have a habitats natural or a life beautiful and heath. I would to protects to animals which not home and food, created to center for they. A second argument should be peoples change for the better, this would mean mutual aid, to overcome any problem. These are my dreams for changing world. (by Ioana Alexandra Nita, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
Well, if I obtained the power to change the world, I would create and maintain a list of actions which I hopefully want to be accomplished. In this list, I would include the following terms: First of all, I want to ensure that each person will benefit from educational courses. In this way, there will be no more discrimination at the address of less intelligent people. Secondly, I will make all the companies in the world to offer a job for every student that graduates University, as well as for every adult that could not find a job yet (or is being unemployed). Finally, the last matter that I want to be done, is the fact that all the people in the world should trust their powers and have confidence in each person they meet. All in all, when this list will be valued, I will accomplish my purpose to change the world in a better place. (by Alexandru Radu Bulai, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
The ones who need to change are the people, because nowadays, people rule the world without caring for anyone around them, but themselves. The world is full of human beings who are rude, selfish, who dominate the land with lack of: equality, peace, love, justice, happiness. We need to heal the world for the future generations so that they should live with the idea of sharing, mutual trust and protection in their heart and soul. (by Stefana Iliescu, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
Our Planet is facing numerous problems caused by people, such as: pollution, massive deforestation causing global warming. And not only this: floods, famine, many diseases. If the power were in my hands, for a day, I would like to change this world in a better one. My firs action would be to give a law to cut less trees. So the ozone layer will regenerate. Factories will be required to use ecological methods to get rid of waste without throwing them in water or air. Each resident will be helped in order to install solar panels and each city to dispose of wind power. This is what I would do in just one day! (by Valentin Bogdan Vasilica, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
As far as I`m concerned, if the power were in my hands and I could change something in this world, I`d like all the robberies to disappear. Without a doubt, this world would be so better the moment when we appreciate what we have, when we believe in us and live like tomorrow we will be dead. Nevertheless, people`s mind has to change, we necessarly have to be supportive, sentimental, quite assertive and friendly with each other. Maybe we did expect too much, because nothing`s forever; forever is a lie and all we have is what`s between hello&goodbye. We have to learn that the best things in life aren`t material things and remind ourselves that it`s okay not to be perfect always. In conclusion, if all the anger and lies disappeared, we would have to open our souls and never let go of our hope and happiness. I described a kind of perfect world and I suppose it will never become real, but it was a beautiful dream. Our dreams push us forward. (by Elena Alexandra Busuioc, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
I would definitely eleminate Homophobia. Gays, Lesbians, Bisexual, and Transgender are all poeple and they shouldn't be treated differently then other. We are all human and we have the same rights. Everyone should have equal rights including gays. It does not matter if they someone like the same gender, they should be treated fairly. We are all human. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know about. Be kind, always. Another thing I dislike it alot . It's about "RAPE". Rape is one of the most terrible crimes on earth and it happens every few minutes. The problem wwith groups who deal with the rape is that they try to educate women about how to defend themselves. What really needs to be done is teaching men not to rape. Go to the source and start there. So you better be careful , the devil was once an angel. (by Radu Stefan Lazarescu, 18 years old, Student from Romania)
From my point of view, if I had the power in my hand I wish to change something to help the nature which is dying little by little every day, due to pollution and people's lack of interest in taking care of the environment. I'd try to change people's behaviour towards nature and I want to make them understand that a clean environment would mean our health would improve. Most people do not understand that nature is an important factor in their lives and they don't know that some drugs are made from plants and an unkept environment is harmful to their health. If they were informed of this, they could understand that protecting the environment is more important than it seems. If the people's indifference doesn't change, nature will dissappear slowly and everything around us will be dry and barren. (by Daniela-Gabriela Grozescu, 18 years old, Student from Romania)

The only reason people criticize and try to debilitate others is because of their own inability or unwillingness to recognize they are flawed. My magic wand for changing the world would be a mirror – I would force people to stare at their image and see themselves through the eyes of others. I would strip away all their arrogance, their greed and hatred, their pride, anger, envy or superiority; I would like them to become aware of their attitude towards all living beings. Only then could they make a sensible choice about what to leave behind. Only then could they stop feeling enslaved. The time to dream ended long ago; the time has come for us to live the dream. (by Roxana Ciugudean, 31 years old, Teacher from Romania)
With that power I would like to change a big part of our world. First, there wouldn’t be any pollution. If there wasn’t pollution, there wouldn’t be so much medical problems. If there weren’t be medical problems, there wouldn’t be so much dead people. If there wasn’t dead people, there wouldn’t be so much sadness. That would make the world a better place. A small opinion, a big change. (by Bogdan Maftei, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
In my opinion if power were in my hands I would make people from Afirca happier, by giving them more water, more food and more houses. Some of them don’t have enough water, so they are suffering from a water shortage. Food and water are a very important part for a children to grow up in a healthy way. It’s sad how people ignore the situation of people from Africa because they are too busy with their luxurious life. Adopting them is another way to make the kids happy, because we could offer them a better life, but it is also a bad idea because we have to take them away from their family. Every gesture we are doing for these loving people matters. (by Georgiana Vasile, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had the power in my hands I would change the laws and the educational system. In my opinion people with big fortune should get paid less or at all for a governmental job and people with very little income shouldn’t pay any taxes or bills. Also I think that people who save lives, like firefighters should get paid better. Teenagers between the age of ten and fifteen should study at school good behavior, how to be respectful and about environment protection. I would create schools for very smart children where they can study for free and make experiments. Also I think it will be good to let high school teenagers choose what they want to study in detail. The biggest changes that I would do would be encouraging charity acts from a small age and create a less formal school. (by Andrei Dobrea, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands what would I like to change in this world? First of all, I would give free books, because the most important is going to school. I would support the students that are smart, but that don’t have money. I would provide support for the people who live in the countryside to sell their crops, because the agriculture is one of the most important part of a country’s economy. Also, I would ban killing stray animals, I would build centers where animals can be taken care of, where people could adopt them. I would stop the deforestation, because if the trees disappear, we would slowly die. I would modernize hospitals and schools, especially from villages. These are some of my thoughts that could improve our world and my country. (by Ioana Andreea Buzduga, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If I HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD, I would take away all the hate and prejudice that consumes the world which is the cause of many conflicts. In order to do that, I would increase tolerance among people, accepting habits, beliefs that are different from our own. I would also prevent injustice by fighting against corruption and poverty, avoiding income inequality in order to close the gap between the poor and the rich. (by Felicia Farcas, 29 years old, Teacher from Romania)
As a child I grew up in the countryside. It was a period of bliss and kindness, it was a fairy tale and I was the main character. But time interfered into my story and like an almighty dragon it made me aware that I was growing up and that my fairy tale would soon come to an end. If the power were in my hands I wound make all the children worldwide characters of my fairy tale. I would like to offer them that security that surrounded me in my childhood, that feeling of being loved no matter what mistakes you make. Unhappiness would become happiness, fear would become security, tears would be changed into roars of laughter, hunger and misery would be transformed into joyousness. My fairy tale would become everyone’s fairy tale. (by Geanina Petronela Ratoi, 32 years old, Teacher from Romania)
Our society is based on superficial things and if we don’t make some changes as soon as possible, I think that the world will reach a point with no return. There are many things which are made for a good reason, but compared to other things, they are not enough. Therefore, I would like to change some things if I could. One of these changes would be to build more shelters for poor people and more obstacles against natural disasters or disasters caused by humans. Another change would be to ban the use of any substances that pollute, even if we don’t have so many facilities. These are some of the changes I would like to do if I had all the power in my hands, but I wouldn’t want to have this power, because I don’t think I could solve all the problems I would be faced with. I wish at some moment there appeared such a person, but it’s almost impossible. (by Catalin Constantin Pricopi, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
I‘ll provide more funding to schools. Undoubtedly
education is both socially and personally an indispensible part of human life. The
inequalities in the standards of education are still a major issue that needs
to be solved as early as it could be. The importance of education is our life
cannot be ignored at any cost. Only with the advent of education can people gain
knowledge and enlarge their view over the world. They may become more useful and civilized if
better educated. (by Costel Daniela Ciobanu, 43 years old, Teacher from Romania)
As Einstein once said “Everything is relative”, the power is relative too. The word “power” is just in the human mind, throughout history and in the present it is used as a manipulative element. In general the power limits people and force them to follow actions that aren’t beneficial for them. If I had all the power in my hands, I would do just one thing: I would give back to people their freedom, inspiring them to follow the universe’s and the nature’s equilibrium and order instead of the rules that we are living by. Everything should be free. (by Roberto Tamas, 17 years old, Student from Romania)
A branch of a tree in a forest. This is what we are. Definitely not too powerful. Still strong enough if part of a canopy which is meant to face a storm. If I were that powerful, I would stop world at war. NATO and Russia must come to a peaceful agreement. Negotiation is key point, no room for egos. History shows that human losses are huge when egos crash. Acceptance of diversity is king, as it highlights identity. Identity is to countries, what confidence is to man. Cultivation of strong points in each nation, for a common goal: PEACE…economically, politically and geographically. An Arthurian round table for a golden “Camelot” (WORLD) where the word is the sword. (by Georgeta Alina Dragoi, 40 years old, Teacher from Romania)
If I had the power I would change the educantion system. Each person would learn just three - four materies and become perfect in his job. Now, we learn a lot of useless things. I would try to modify the relationship teacher-student and try to make classes of 9-10 stundent, I would also remove the alcohol, like in Arabian States. If something is interdicted all young people is atracted by that thing. But if nobody know about it they just don't know and that's it. (by Francisc Mutu, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands, I would like to change so many things in this ”on the run” world. I would start with the attitude of people and their desire to use technology and natural resources in excess. We have reached a point where our lives depend on mobile phones, internet, but few of us know how dramatically technological innovations are affecting our health. Young people use internet and social networks to communicate and they create a false vision about friendship and society. It can radically change our lives, for better or worse…it depends on how do we manage to control it. The protection of natural resources is another important issue I would take into account. We must stop deforestation and try to plant trees for regeneration if we want a healthy environment ,not a barren and deserted land. (by Mirela Smarandache, 26 years old, Teacher from Romania)
Likewise, the rural settlements display a low standard of living, except for the larger communes whose index values are slightly higher. These aspects confirm the existence of a subsistence agriculture and a lack of development initiatives that facilitate the economic growth of a region. Worth mentioning is that the transition and post-transition periods have brought fundamental change to all levels, economic, socialand institutional arrangements. The intens restructuring process has led to change of property type, mode of production, forms of organization, increase of regional disparities, decrease of living standards, reconfiguration of the relationships between industry and environment, changes in the management of land use etc. Such facts have made many areas, including the riverine localities of the analyzed sector, to increase unequally their socioeconomicvulnerability and to reduce their resilience in front of varios internal and external drivers of change. (by Loredana Jenica Marcu, 35 years old, Teacher from Romania)
If the power were in my hands,I would like to change the economy of the world, so that the differcence between rich people and poor people would be diminished. Then I would build many educational units and hospitals and I’d upgrade those that already exist. After all, I would give a law not tu cut more than ten trees per hectar to avoid massive deforestation, which is the cause of global warming. Lastly, I would like the pollution taxes to be highter,so greener industries would avoid pollution. These taxes to be highter, so greener industries would avoid pollution. These taxes will be used as state aid for the purchase of green technologies that minimize pollution or make it disappear. (by Danut Laurentiu Tenchiu, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands I would like to diminish social relationships between people. In recent decades more and more people realize their sinking into poverty. Poverty may concern today most people but the most affected are those who live in squalid conditions, under bridges, in channels, those not part of a living. Poverty should be a temporary condition generated by a multitude of unfavorable factors at a time, but this condition tends to entrench and for some it is a way of life. I want to change the lives of these people punished by fate, give them a decent life by providing them with jobs. (by Oana Lupascu, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had the power in my hands, I would change the political system, I want all people to have to work and to have their own money, not to steal and kill for money. I would stop the use and sale of drugs in all countries and the gambling game because this things will ruin your life. I want to plant more trees and protect the animals because we will continue with deforestation animals will disappear with their habitat. I want to stop racist hate because we are all people and should not to do deference between us. These things I will change if I had the power in my hands. (by Adrian Eremia, 15 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power were in my hands I would eliminate poverty of all kinds, be it material or spiritual. I would grant access to information and education to everybody and make sure everybody leads a life according to high standards. My main focus would be on raising children so that they can make their own decisions in life, so that they can use whatever information is available to them instead of just acquiring knowledge. Moreover, I would make sure that education, research and health are given funding so that progress should be made in these fields. I would promote peace in a broad sense, among countries and among people belonging to the same culture, I would promote tolerance and love towards all creatures of God. (by Teofana Toader, 36 years old, Teacher from Romania)
Society is not a constant, it is always evolving, always changing to best fit the world. But all these changes always begin dream. It will be interesting to document the dreams we have for society. I would offer a job and a house to all the people. I would reduce the working time. I would remove completely terrosim from afghanistan ,libya, isrel and other countries that are constanlty in a war. Everyone deserves a better life and that is what i would do for the better of the world. I would like to change all that is bad and worng, in good things, I think most people want that. (by Dan Rusu, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If I had the power to change something in this world I would most probably change the way people love themselves, people in order to understand how important are the decisions they make daily. What makes people weak? Their need for validation and recognition. Sometimes what we want is not what we need, so we must learn from what we receive and not what we give. By doing that, we change ourselves and when people change, the world changes too. So, by putting all in a nutshell, I would enjoy making people live passionately with all the injuries that can happen as a result:It is worth it? Why? Cause when people do that, they realize that not recognition is important but, the amazing power when everybody is putting their heads together and do great things. So, if you give a little love, you can get a little love of your own! (by Ana-Maria Mere-Albe, 16 years old, Student from Romania)
If the power of changes were in my hands, I would wish with all my soul that I could change people`s lives form a financial perspective. I would offer stable jobs to people who are hopeless, I would raise their salary, all of this to create a prosperous life those families to live comfortably. If politicions stopped stealing the country`s fonds, things would be more diferent, the people would be so happy, full of life, sociable and they would manage to put the hate and fury away from their lives. In conclusion, the decent lives of people would manage to intensify happiness, helping to make people colaborate and communicate with each other, because it is very important for us to say our point of view when we are in public. That`s my wish and I think I will make it happen. (by Lavinia Elena Ene, 18 years old, Student from Romania)
